That’s why I always call those pictures “grim.” It’s an everyday reality here in Hollywood where less than a mile away people live in Byzantine splendor up in the Hollywood Hills. These are the only pictures that I take in black and white.
It is sad that this is his reality. It is sad for many people that they live this reality, while the rest of us bitch about taxes and guns and what’s on sale.

I know. We all worry about stray animals, but there are stray people too. Lost, abandoned, hopeless. I feel obliged to document their plight.
