Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Vibrant Colors

Stained glass 6

I find the purple of Saint Joseph’s garment to be particularly vibrant.

While the prompt for this challenge is “vibrant colors,” if one accepts the definition of vibrant as “full of energy or enthusiasm, then these people seem fairly vibrant to me. These dancers are members of the Annapolis Traditional Dance Society. They are participating in what is called a “contra dance.” The color of the woman’s dress on the left (with her back to us) seems quite vibrant as well.

Butterfly 7If we are going to showcase vibrant colors, how can we leave out the glorious butterfly? This one is but one example of the vibrancy that the members of the insect order Lepidoptera can evince.

Of all the colors of the rainbow, I find yellow to be the most vibrant. As always, a big thank you to Cee for this opportunity to show off a little!

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar.
