Ragtag Daily Prompt: Fatigue

Bed 5_20_1A secret passageway connected the King’s and Queen’s chambers to one another. That way they could travel back and forth without anyone else in the palace being the wiser. On this particular night, Queen Pirouette entered her husband bedroom to find him crouched over his desk with an overturned goblet and some wet documents. It was hardly an edifying sight.

“GarGar!” Cried the Queen. “Have you been drinking?”

“No. No. May dear,” he responded groggily, “What you seen before you is merely a study in fatigue!” Whereupon, he buried his face in his right arm, wedging the left side of his face into the wet surface of the desk.

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar.
