    So very sad, and a little scary too. I remember when I was going to school in DC I used to see the homeless and think, “Oh God, don’t let that ever be me.” I just don’t know if I could survive out there. I wish that no one had to live on the streets.

    • I was eight years old before I saw my first bum, as we used to call them. He was picking cigarettes out of an ashtray at the museum and I asked Mom, “Why’s he doing that?” I don’t remember her answer. Ha!
