Cee’s FOTD Challenge: December 20, 2019

Pine cone 1Pine cone 1 macro

This pine cone was actually featured in the last post. It was part of a Christmas wreath on a door at Calvary Methodist Church in Annapolis, Maryland. I think the macro is very interesting. Study of gymnosperms should be encouraged. In my case, as a biologist, the more I learned about the inner workings of nature, the more it confirmed to me that God, defined as a universal creative force, must exist. So this humble pine cone is my submission to Cee’s Flower of the Day challenge. Merry Christmas to all!

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar.
