Ragtag Daily Prompt: Tricolour

The field was aflutter with the banners of King GarGar’s assembled army. The horses were excited by the sound of the trumpets blaring, their mouths dotted with froth. The pink, white and chartreuse of His Majesty’s tricolor stood out as his standard bearer rode directly behind him. The mounted knight held the royal insignia up high for all to see. If that wasn’t enough to single the King out, on his helmet rested a golden crown that glinted in the bright morning sunlight.

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar.
