Ragtag Daily Prompt: Boundary

“What’s the last think you remember from the battle for control of the bridge that you fought?” The Prime Minister was trying to get GarGar, le comte des Deux Chats to divulge what had transpired during the many months he’d been missing in action.

“I’m not quite sure,” replied GarGar. I remember being thrown from my horse as I was trying to cross the riverbed. I remember thinking that I was going to drown. I’ll tell you, mon ami, monsieur le premier ministre, the boundary between life and death is immeasurably thin. I feel as though I must have died that day because I have no memory until about two weeks ago. That means that months are cloaked in darkness. It’s most distressing,” said GarGar. “I’ve about had it. I’m just glad to be home.”
