Pull Up a Seat Challenge #13

I don’t know if this is the most recent Pull Up a Seat Challenge by Xingfu Mama, but I saw this spot and immediately thought of this particular challenge. I envy the folks who get to sit here whenever they fancy. It had to be shared with the rest of the world. This spot looks over Weems Creek which is one of the tinier creeks in and around Annapolis.

PAS 1 b cropThis is another favorite spot. It’s in my own backyard.  I never sit in this chair but it is a lovely prop for the squirrels. They love it. They use it as a staging ground between the trees, the clothes line and the ground below. I took these pictures with my iPhone 11. Edited in Photoshop.PAS 1

Pull Up a Seat Photo Challenge #45

As is so often the case, I need to thank Cee for introducing me to this challenge.

I don’t know exactly how old these sturdy, cast-iron chairs in the front yard may be, but I suspect that they date back to the Great Depression. Having been painted and repainted over the decades, the resulting pentimento (to abuse the term) gives them great character. The sit in a lovely spot where the vines have really taken hold of the trees and provide excellent ground cover. I like to invite friends to sit with me, drink coffee or tea and watch the neighbors go about their business. Birds, squirrels and a myriad of insects have made a home here, and I often sit and meditate upon them.
