Bird Weekly Photo Challenge: Birds beginning with the Letter G

Our Eyes Open hosts the Bird Weekly Photo Challenge. This week they are looking for birds that begin with the letter G in their name.

Geese

Gulls

Mockingbird says, “What about me? I can sound like a bird that begins with the letter G and my name ends with the letter G. Isn’t that good enough?”
Another mockingbird from the archives. This is probably the best bird photo I’ve ever taken so I can’t resist showing it off!

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar.

  1. Nice photos. Your gull overlooking the ledge somehow looks very comical to me. I’m not sure why. I think I’m imagining he has some sort of thoughtful expression. 🙂

    1. Now that you mention it, he does look thoughtful! I wonder what he’s thinking? It’s probably food related. Besides mating, I think that food is their biggest obsession. 😺
