Ragtag Daily Prompt: Surrender

Pirouette 5_17_1Queen Pirouette shook her head slowly. It saddened her to see her daughter and namesake, la jeune Princesse Pirouette so upset. The young woman was visibly shaking. “Please try to calm yourself, my dear.” She said in a soothing voice. “There is always room for compromise in a situation like this.”

“Compromise?” la jeune replied. “How is there room for compromise? I must either surrender to your terms or you to mine. I see no other solution.”

“My dear, for women of our station, the right to marry a husband of our own choice simply doesn’t exist.”

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar.
