Ragtag Daily Prompt: Stickler

Play 4_24_2There were few things that Queen Pirouette took more seriously than table manners. When she and King GarGar were first betrothed, she was shocked at his behavior at the supper table. He grabbed his food with his bare hands. He’d rest his elbows on the table. He’d wipe his mouth with his sleeve. He openly belched.

This were a few years before they became King and Queen, so she was granted a period of time to instruct him on the rules of table etiquette. Some might say that Pirouette was a stickler for rules, but she would counter that her superior breeding demanded observation of a strict code of behavior that encompassed everything from table manners to dancing to card playing. She knew that the King and Queen were under observation at all times, and any slip ups would be duly noted and recorded for posterity.
