Queen Pirouette held a private audience with le parfumeur royal. Once a month the man would come to the palace, assistant in tow who carried a small wooden chest. After bowing low to the Queen, the perfumer motioned his assistant to open the chest. Inside were a variety of small glass vials that seemed to glow with an inner energy.
“Today Your Majesty I’ve prepared a special formulation. It has a rose and gardenia base with hints of honeysuckle and hyacinth. One whiff and His Majesty will be at your feet.”
“No thank you, monsieur, but I prefer my husband by my side,” replied the Queen with a smile.
