I’ve never seen anything like this. Check out the outrageous, needle-like abdomen. I’m guessing that it is some kind of ant.
Beauty is everywhere waiting to be captured

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar. View more posts
I think it’s some sort of wasp. It looks like it’s a pollinator. So I got this pic and info for ya: https://drmarthacastrodoctor.files.wordpress.com/2021/08/wasp-weird-dra-martha-castro-noriega-mexico.jpg

Thank you!
Yes, it is quite similar but my guy doesn’t have wings. Maybe it is the male of the species?
hmmm – it looks kind of like what we call a dirt dobber or mud dobber wasp. I looked up some photos and it’s similar, but they have wings. They prey on small insects.
I know about the mud daubers. I’ve always felt sorry for their victims because they are still alive when the babies start to eat them. What a horrible fate!
Yeah, that’s pretty creepy!
Ouch!
