I’m a big fan of my home state, Maryland. If it only had the Chesapeake Bay to its credit, that alone would make it a great place, but there is so much more.
Because of the Chesapeake Bay, and its massive watershed, Maryland hosts many species of migratory birds. Even more amazing were the monarch butterflies, who passed through Maryland on their way to Mexico. In the Fall there would be so many that they would cover entire trees. Perhaps they’ve chosen more remote locations for rest areas. I don’t know.
