LIFE ON EUROPA! The headline generated great excitement all over the world. Here in our own solar system, our astronomical backyard, there existed life. Surprisingly similar to single-celled organisms on Earth, The outer membrane of these creatures consisted of two layers of mucopolysaccharides with fatty oil-like molecules. They would skit about near the surface of massive lakes of liquid methane. Were these but the beginning species that would evolve into multi-celled organisms? Or did they represent an evolutionary dead end?
