Mrs. Monica Snapjaw stared intently into the brew that filled her crystal punch bowl. Murmuring words from a forgotten, distant past, she inhaled deeply. The odor of the mixture was that of sweetness and corruption. Arms akimbo, she leaned more closely to the surface in order to see her reflection. When she exhaled, her image broke into an infinity of circles.
Envisioning the horror that she hoped to invoke, Monica cried out in a hoarse voice, “So mote it be!”

Cee’s Flower of the Day Photo Challenge: September 29, 2019
At present I resist the temptation to post Autumn leaves. There are a couple of reasons for this. First of all, I figure that there’s plenty of time to do it. Secondly, to be frank, I find this time of year to be a bit depressing. The days get shorter. It reminds of the trauma of going back to school after a summer of blissful freedom. So for the next few days at least, I will be posting photographs of some of my most favorite of all flowers- orchids. Here’s orchid number one for Cee’s FOTD Challenge.
