After GarGar became King, one of his first acts was to found a school for navigation. There, students learned to read maps and charts of the seas and skies. King GarGar was keen on becoming known as GarGar the Navigator, sailing ships all over the globe. He was one of the first people of his day to acknowledge that the world was in fact round, not flat. For this alone, he could be regarded as an enlightened despot.
