Here are my entries for Dutch Goes the Photo’s Tuesday Challenge: Stack
Here are a few interesting trees that caught my eye over the past week or so. I am submitting them to Dutch Goes the Photo! Tuesday Photo Challenge. If you follow this link, do explore their blog. There’s a lot going on there!
When the delegation from Parliament had finished with their pretty speeches, Queen Pirouette looked at them all from her high place on the throne with barely concealed exasperation. How can they be so stupid! She thought to herself.
Clearing her throat, she immediately commanded silence from the assembly. “Whenever a delegation comes to me from the Lower House of Parliament, I know that they come, speaking for the common people. As I love the Commons as though they were my own children, it should go without saying that I want to know everything concerning their well-being.”
Pausing to deploy a cleverly painted fan, she gave herself a few quick waves, and then snapped it shut again, as if to say, “I’m done now. Go!”
Peace be with you.
And also with you.
What the second photograph really represents is just a little fun, playing with some of the new features in Photoshop Elements 2020.
Pchtikwitle, the squirrel and his friend Tchk-tchk were on their way to enjoy some breakfast, but they couldn’t agree on the place.
“Let’s go to Glenn. They’ve always got those yummy unsalted, roasted peanuts. On top of that, there’s sure to be some bird seed for dessert,” posited Tchk-Tchk.
“I’m sick of that place!” Cried Pchtikwitle. “Before I’ve taken two bites, those damn blue jays always show up to steal all the peanuts. It’s infuriating.”
“Okay,” sighed his friend. “What do you suggest?”
“How about Taylor?” They’ve been leaving those yummy crusts from peanut butter and jelly sandwiches under the tree.”
“You’re joking, right? If you’re tired of the blue jays, how can you suggest a notorious haunt for the crows? Those damn crows are capable of anything!”
“Alright, fine,” huffed Ptchikwitle. “But the minute I see a blue jay, I’m splitting.”
“Fine. Fine. Fine.”
Note: I’m probably going to submit a second post that pursues the concept of fantasy from pure imagery. I love the example that was presented to us with the surreal vision of taking the dogs for a walk. At first I thought that they might be unicorns! –Russell

GarGar gazed dreamily at the miniature portrait of Princess Pirouette in a vain attempt to tune out the voice of his tutor.
“Your Excellency,” he droned. “It’s never too soon to learn how to deal with the opposite sex appropriately. While there’s nothing wrong with giving a few trifles to your betrothed, it’s a slippery slope. Is it true that you gave her your mother’s diamond collar?”
GarGar, le comte de deux chats did his best to stifle a yawn. “I’m not sure that’s any of your business, my good man,” he finally responded.

It took a lot of collections to pay for the church’s new steeple. With the war against the “evil doers” raging, the cost of materials and labor were quite steep. Still, where there is a will, there is a way and now the parishioners would look with pride at their place of worship.
“Protestants be damned!” Said Monseigneur Reppetti, as he cut the ribbon, ushering in a new era for the Catholic faithful.
