Tuesday Photo Challenge: Common

When the delegation from Parliament had finished with their pretty speeches, Queen Pirouette looked at them all from her high place on the throne with barely concealed exasperation. How can they be so stupid! She thought to herself.

Clearing her throat, she immediately commanded silence from the assembly. “Whenever a delegation comes to me from the Lower House of Parliament, I know that they come, speaking for the common people. As I love the Commons as though they were my own children, it should go without saying that I want to know everything concerning their well-being.”

Pausing to deploy a cleverly painted fan, she gave herself a few quick waves, and then snapped it shut again, as if to say, “I’m done now. Go!”

I was born at the American Hospital in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. I find inspiration in the lives of so many people from Joan of Arc to Oscar Wilde. While my primary avocation is photography, I also enjoy philosophy, theology and most of all, history. My beloved wife, Robin Anne Smith, who passed away in 2013 is an inspiration to me. My beloved partner, Dana is also a great support and inspiration to me. I'd be remiss if I did not mention my cats: Maxwell, Nigel, Pirouette and GarGar.
