I too am a fan of cemeteries. There are so many stories there, both happy and sad. I especially enjoy visiting cemeteries in foreign countries. Every country (and even many states) is different – there are so many customs surrounding cemeteries.
Indeed. We just had El Dio des los Muertos. I think it is a lovely custom to take the family to the graveyard with a picnic basket and blanket, in order to eat among lost loved ones.
Thank you! I love to wander in cemetaries, reading the inscriptions, imagining the lives of people, some of whom lived centuries ago. Especially poignant are the markers for infants and children.
