Animal of the Day Challenge (AOTD)
Because of the remote location, there were few visitors to Granpa Rick’s cabin. With the wife dead, and the children all grown and gone, Granpa lived a solitary existence. There was no running water, no electricity. The old man swore that chopping wood, and cranking the water pump kept him young and fit, despite the constant cigarettes and daily doses of ‘shine.
This is my contribution to Fandango’s Friday Flashback. I wasn’t too pleased with any past November 29 posts. This photo is from November 4, 2010. The setting is Joshua Tree National Park.
Although it appears greenish in color, this butterfly is actually white. The reflections of all the greenery around it is what makes it appear so. It makes me wonder if it is even really white, but like the baby seals in the Arctic, actually clear. These photos were taken on September 1 of this year.
