Lens-Artists Challenge #144 - Taking Flight

Here are my contribution to Lens-Artists photo challenge #144 - Taking Flight.

This bee is actually zooming in for a landing.
This was a difficult capture but I think it looks pretty cool.
This honeybee is just getting ready to take off.
This dragonfly looks like it has a big smile on its face.

This was a very difficult shot between the glare against the viewer and the dragonfly’s masterful camouflage, I had to send up big prayers with each shot.
Just a little closer…it’s still a challenge to distinguish leaf from dragonfly.
This dragonfly’s ability to blend in with the grass is stunning.
That’s it for today’s dragonfly! Thank you Lord for sending them my way!

This morning I went to visit an old stomping ground from last summer. In the past it had been a great location for photographing butterflies. In that respect, I was not surprised to be disappointed. On the other hand, a friendly dragonfly, as has been so often the case this summer, agreed to pose for a couple dozen exposures. He was so well camouflaged that even though the shots are clear and crisp, one is still obliged to squint in order to get a good look at my anisopteran friends.
