We’re coming to the end of the road with butterfly season. These images were captured on September 19, 2019, a lonely resident of one of my favorite fields for butterfly hunting. Not to worry. I’ve got lots of photographs that I’ve take over the course of this last summer, probably enough to carry us to Christmas!
Do you see the butterfly? It’s fairly well camouflaged. This how the overwhelming power of natural selection is expressed in a tiny, winged insect.
I think that this is an amazing shade of yellow. Given what beautiful, yet incredibly hardy plants the pansies are, I find it amusing that their name is used as a pejorative. If anybody should ever call me a pansy, I’d say, “Thank you!”
