For Queen Pirouette, the transition from childhood to adulthood was brief. In quick succession she was wed and then ascended the throne. Within a year of her marriage, she gave birth to her first child, La Princesse Gargella. It was no surprise that at first she felt a bit overwhelmed by the rapidity of events in her life. By the time she had her second child, another daughter, this one named after her mother, she had found her stride. Her first act as Queen had been to crown her husband, King GarGar. Because of this, he was viewed as the junior partner in terms of political authority.
