And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Matthew 6:28-29

Butterfly 5Yes, when they were at their peak, butterflies were everywhere. I caught this beauty last August on the hood of my car.

Butterfly, October 1, 2019

Butterfly 1Butterfly 2Butterfly 3We’re coming to the end of the road with butterfly season. These images were captured on September 19, 2019, a lonely resident of one of my favorite fields for butterfly hunting. Not to worry. I’ve got lots of photographs that I’ve take over the course of this last summer, probably enough to carry us to Christmas!

Cee’s FOTD Challenge: October 1, 2019

FOTD 1Do you see the butterfly? It’s fairly well camouflaged. This how the overwhelming power of natural selection is expressed in a tiny, winged insect.

FOTD 2I think that this is an amazing shade of yellow. Given what beautiful, yet incredibly hardy plants the pansies are, I find it amusing that their name is used as a pejorative. If anybody should ever call me a pansy, I’d say, “Thank you!”
