Royal messengers rode across the land, crying out in the name of King GarGar and Queen Pirouette that there was to be a tournament. All were welcome to join the lists, even foreigners. Soon the Kingdom was abuzz with rumors of what was in store. The greatest knights in the world would be gathering to compete for a great prize.
The exact nature of the grand prize was a secret of course. Some said it was the hand in marriage of one of the royal princesses. Some said it was a castle with lands and servants. It was all conjecture. Only the King and Queen knew what the grand prize would be and they weren’t telling anybody.
