Ragtag Daily Prompt: Darkness

One reason King GarGar was so beloved was his affable nature. Behind the facade of bonhomie beat the heart of a youth who grew up with want and insecurity. A far from idyllic childhood caused the King to harbor deep-seeded fears and a soul that dwelt in sorrow. Only the Queen knew the truth behind the smiles and laughter. She was there to comfort GarGar in the night when the terrors of darkness came to haunt.
