Queen Pirouette’s apartments in the palace were her refuge, and the bedroom was her wonderland. The bed was so expansive that it could accommodate ten Pirouettes quite comfortably. It’s canopy was made of red velvet with a braided gold trim. The duvet was made of a hundred pink and white squares that she, her mother and sister had embroidered when she was a child. It was her favorite possession. The pillow cases were made of silk with lace trim. It was indeed a bed fit for a queen.
