Away in a manger…
O! Little Town of Bethlehem…
We appeared to be one short of three wise men. The shepherds were all smiles! All of the painted backgrounds contained instructive narrative behind little doors that the kids could open and read. Can you see the two little doors on the photo at lower right (above)?

The steps that lead to the entrance to the Tower led one directly to a pier. Thus, enemies of the Crown could be transported by boat to imprisonment. The Princess sat in an open skiff with rain falling on her bare head. When one of the guards tried to hold his cloak over her, she pushed him away and shouted, “How dare you!”
When her eyes fell on the grey stones of the Tower, she felt her stomach sink. Fighting against the waves of despair that poured over her, the Princess began to pray. “If you want to help,” she told the guard, “then pray for me.”
The only piece of jewelry that Queen Pirouette wore on her hand was her wedding band. While her neck, hair and clothing might be sprinkled liberally with diamonds, rubies, pearls and other precious stones, her hands were bare, save the token of her marriage. When she was nervous, she tended to fidget with the ring, twisting it around and around with thumb and index finger of her other hand. She never removed it. When King GarGar placed it on her finger, there it stayed forever. She made certain that in death, she would be buried with it. [GarGar and Pirouette, December 22, 2019.]
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Revelation 2:10.
Photographed on September 27, 2019. The yellow blossoms provided excellent camouflage for this little beauty. From a distance, it was rather difficult to make him out.
In the Fall, my nostalgia is for summer. So it only makes sense that in the Winter, my nostalgia is for Autumn. These pretty autumnal leaves are my contribution to Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge.
