Another Merry Christmas!

For the first time in many years, I find myself really caught up in the spirit of Christmas. The good people at Heritage Baptist Church are a big reason for this spiritual change. Here are some more photographs from their Nativity pageant. Merry Christmas everybody!

Nativity 1

Everybody was so friendly and welcoming. There were lots of stations where parishioners told different parts of the story of Christmas. Here we learn why our Savior was called Jesus of Nazareth, and how Bethlehem fits into the narrative.

Heritage 2I’m guessing that this little fella from the petting zoo may have a bit of trouble seeing where he’s going.

Some parishioners were shepherds. Some were angels. All of the children were simply adorable!

Ragtag Daily Prompt: Buoyant

GarGar 2After Princess Gargella’s wedding, King GarGar’s mood was buoyant. He insisted on serving the bride and groom their meals and pouring their wine. When the music played, he sang along despite being painfully tone-deaf. He kissed the Queen, both of his daughters. His son, Prince GarGar was even a recipient of His Majesty’s affection when GarGar took the boy by both hands and dragged him onto the dance floor. Whereupon, he insisted that they perform a little dance duet for the benefit of the happy couple and all the assembled guests.

GarGar 1 bGarGar 1 aKing GarGar and Queen Pirouette sat in the gallery of the cathedral during their oldest daughter’s wedding. While GarGar could not keep his eyes off of the ceremony, Pirouette hardly took notice. She was more concerned with projecting a completely regal presence to the assembled guests. Princess Gargella never looked more beautiful, and maintained a frozen smile on her face, despite the fact that she was being forced to settle for a husband who was twice her age, already twice-married and in obviously poor health.

Much to the consternation of the King, the groom coughed loudly throughout the proceedings.

Luke 2:22-40 – The Presentation in the Temple

22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;

37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

39 And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Your Second Psychedelic Sunday Butterfly, December 22, 2019

Because I accidentally posted a Psychedelic Sunday butterfly on a Saturday, I must post a second one for Sunday. I hope that makes sense. And since I did rather mess up the spirit of Psychedelic Sunday, guilt drove me to give one hundred percent to this post. Enjoy! Merry Christmas!

Cee’s FOTD Challenge: December 22, 2019

Another bouquet for Cee’s Flower of the Day challenge! When Jez Braithwaite submitted a couple of bouquets for this challenge, it really caught my attention. So I decided to wait a couple of weeks, and then give it a shot. As imitation is the highest form of flattery, I do hope you will accept the compliment, Jez! Bouquet 2

And as it is Christmastime, I feel obliged to post a nice wreath. Merry Christmas to all!
